I recently noticed that my parents always encourage me to live a prayerful life because they realized that prayer is highly beneficial and they also want me to experience its benefits. I, thus, decided to live a prayerful life, contemplate and study prayer and here is what I realized.
- A prayerful life reduces worry about the future.
- All ancient cultures prayed to God. Thus, prayer is instinctive.
- Some prayers are answered some are not. We don’t know why and we’ll never know why. Anyone who explains why some prayers get answered and others don’t, relies on assumptions. For this reason, their theory is always inaccurate.
- A righteous life doesn’t guarantee answered prayer. Sometimes, the prayers of wicked men are answered while those of righteous men are ignored.
- Prayer may not prevent hardships but it increases the chances of experiencing miracles and synchronicities.
- Prayer leads to inner peace. People who live a prayerful life and believe that a Higher Power hears and answers their prayers easily find peace of mind.
- According to scientific research, a prayerful life makes people less angry and less reactive to negative emotions.
- Scientific research also reveals that regular prayer fosters recovery from mental illness.
- Prayer is man’s way of communicating with the Source of Creation.
- Researchers have found that praying increases dopamine levels in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that allows you to feel pleasure, satisfaction, and motivation.
- Praying increases serotonin levels. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that mediates optimism, happiness, and satisfaction.
- Prayer is a mysterious spiritual act that science will never fully understand.
- The best way to know whether prayer works or not is to try to live a prayerful life for a year.
- There is no RIGHT formula for answered prayer. The Source of Creation hears your prayers regardless of the formula of prayer you use.
- Prayer is the cheapest and most effective way of coping with life’s challenges.
- Prayer is the shortcut to a positive mental attitude. I have tried thinking positively through affirmations and reading several motivational books and I failed. Positive thinking came easily to me when I embraced prayer.
- Many people have reported seeing situations from a different perspective or in a new light after prayer.
- To pray is to be in tune with life.
- .Prayer is the umbilical cord that allows you—with your embryonic ideas—to draw nourishment from a source that you, like an unborn infant, can neither see nor fully know or comprehend—God our heavenly Father! – Robert Schuller.
- It is easier to live in the moment if you live a prayerful life
