The Book of Proverbs shares knowledge that leads to good relationships and personal well-being. It also encourages people to work on becoming wise.
I love reading the Book of Proverbs, and I always note down amazing pearls of wisdom from it every time I read it. Here are some of them.
Proverbs:
3: 3-4 – ‘Let not kindness and fidelity leave you; bind them around your neck; then you will win the favor of both man and God.’
3:5-6 – ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not. In all your ways, be mindful of him, and he will make your paths straight.’
3:13 -14 – ‘Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding. For the profit of wisdom is better than the profit of silver and gold.’
4: 18 – ‘The path of the just (the good-hearted) is like the morning sun, shining brighter till the full light of day.’
6: 10-11 – A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the arms to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a highway man.’
9: 8: – ‘Reprove an arrogant man, and he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.’
10: 12 – ‘Hatred stirs up disputes, but love covers all offenses.’
10: 22 – ‘It is the Lord’s blessings that bring wealth, and no effort can substitute it.’
11: 2 – 3 – ‘When pride comes, disgrace comes. The honesty of the upright guides them; the faithless are ruined by their duplicity.’
12: 1 – ‘He who loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.’
13: 11 – ‘Wealth quickly gotten dwindles away, but amassed little by little, it grows.
14: 29 – ‘A tranquil mind gives life to the body, jealousy rots the bones.’
16: 3 – ‘Entrust your works to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.’
16: 9 – ‘In his mind, a man plans his course, but God directs his steps.’
16: 18 – ‘Pride comes before disaster, and a haughty spirit before a fall.’
16: 20 – ‘He who plans a thing will be successful; happy is he who trusts in the Lord.’
17: 9 – ‘He who covers up a misdeed fosters friendship, but he who gossips it separates friends.’
17: 22 – ‘A joyful heart is the health of the body, but a depressed spirit dries up the bones.’
18: 16 – ‘A man’s gift opens doors for him and brings him before great men.’
19: 2 – ‘He who acts hastily blunders.’
19:11 – ‘It is good sense in a man to be slow to anger, and it is glory to overlook an offense.’
19: 21 – ‘Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the decision of the Lord that endures.’
22: 2 – ‘Rich and poor have a common bond; the Lord is the maker of all.’
27;1 – ‘Boast not of tomorrow, for you know not what any day may bring forth.’
27: 2 – ‘Let another praise you – not your own mouth; someone else – not your own lips.’
