7 Simplified Secret Teachings of the Emerald Tablets of Thoth

The Emerald Tablets are ancient writings attributed to Thoth: an ancient scribe of the gods. The tablets are a collection of mystical texts that contain powerful teachings about the true nature of humans, how humans can attain true freedom, and the importance of wisdom. I have read the Emerald Tablets multiple times so that I can achieve a true understanding of their teachings. While reading, I have noted down seven secret teachings from the tablets that I would love to share with you. 

Teaching 1. Earthly Life is Designed to be Difficult

Earthly life is designed to be difficult so that humans thrive. Just as plants become stronger through the resistance of the wind, we become mentally and spiritually stronger, when we face and overcome the difficulties of life. Without the resistance of the difficulties of earthly existence, there would be no impetus for growth and transformation.

Teaching 2. A Human is a Spiritual Being in a Body

We are spiritual beings who were originally born in the spiritual realm but earthly consciousness has prevented us from knowing our spiritual nature. True freedom is only attained if we discover our spiritual nature. We can discover this nature in two major ways. First, by committing ourselves to spiritual growth. Second, by embracing struggle because struggle was meant to force the spiritual nature to emerge.

Teaching 3. Follow the Path of Wisdom

Seek wisdom and you’ll free yourself from earthly consciousness by rising to higher states of consciousness. Wisdom will lead to spiritual enlightenment and enable you to understand the mysteries of the universe.

Teaching 4. Sorrow Arises from the Earthly Illusion

When you are deeply immersed in the earthly illusion, you’ll always be sorrowful because you’ll be separated from higher spiritual truths.  If you want to overcome sorrow, you must pursue spiritual growth and enlightenment, which will free you from sorrow by enabling you to rise above earthly consciousness.

Teaching 5. The Path of the Spiritual Master

To be a spiritual master, you must seek knowledge, conquer fear, and free yourself from the earthly illusion by detaching yourself from earthly things. You will face several obstacles on the spiritual path, but you must stay committed to the journey.

Teaching 6. How to Live an Amazing Life

You can’t live an amazing life if you are attached to bodily desires because the body is a limited entity that cannot be free. Only the soul knows true freedom, everything else in the earthly realm is limited. Therefore, to live an amazing life, you must live the life of the soul. A life led by true wisdom and divine knowledge.

Teaching 7. The Future is Predictable

The law of cause and effect indicates that it is easy to predict the future since the future is an effect of present actions. If you take a closer look at what is happening now, you’ll know what will happen in the future. If you want a better future, you must ensure that your actions align with the future you desire.
