Here is an ancient meditation of the rising serpent – from my book – that helped me through my celibacy journey.
Sit in a meditating position and imagine a glowing golden serpent resting at the base of your spine. Take deep breaths and imagine the serpent moving through the Root Chakra and a red glow emerging at the base of the spine as the serpent moves. Then say, “I am safe, and I am connected and grounded through the earth.”
As you breathe deeply, imagine the serpent rising to the Sacral Chakra, and imagine an orange light shining in the lower abdomen as the serpent reaches this Chakra and say, “I am a highly creative being.”
As you keep taking deep breaths, imagine the serpent rising to the Solar Plexus Chakra. As the serpent reaches this Chakra, imagine a radiant yellow light shining, just above the navel and below the rib cage, and say: “I am powerful, I am confident, and I can shape my destiny.”
As you keep breathing deeply, imagine the serpent rising to the Heart Chakra at the center of the chest. As the serpent reaches this Chakra, imagine a beautiful green light glowing in the center of the chest and say: “I am forgiving, I am compassionate, and I love all beings unconditionally.”
As you continue breathing deeply, imagine the serpent moving higher to the Throat Chakra. As it reaches this Chakra, see a bright blue light shining in your throat and say: “I speak my truth with clarity, wisdom, and confidence.”
Keep taking deep breaths and imagine the golden serpent rising to the Third Eye Chakra. As the serpent rests here, imagine a deep indigo light glowing between your eyes and say: “I am intuitive, I am awakened, I see beyond the illusions of the world.”
As you breathe deeply, imagine the serpent reaching the Crown Chakra at the top of your head. As it reaches this Chakra, visualize a violet or white light radiating around your head. Then imagine that wings are growing on your back because you are now an awakened being, and say: “I am awakened. I am one with the Divine, I am connected to the infinite source of wisdom and life.”
