Are We Living in the Devil’s Illusion?

Are We Living in the Devil’s Illusion?

1 John 5:19: “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”

One thing any human eventually realizes is that this world is full of suffering and pain. It doesn’t matter who a person is or what they achieve; life never stops presenting some form of struggle. When one solves a problem, another one soon appears. The happiest moments are surrounded by uncertainty. Success is shadowed by fear. Love carries the possibility of heartbreak.

Difficulty is part of the basic structure of life.

And when this is understood, one sees that struggle is not a sign of failure. It is just the nature of life on this planet.

A planet, which the Gnostics and many other secret societies claim was created by an imperfect, ignorant god. According to the Gnostics, the world is mainly characterized by confusion, pain, limitation, and suffering because it was created by an inferior, malevolent divinity known as the Demiurge or Yaldabaoth.

This Demiurge and its minions (Archons) control the world and are responsible for the evil in it. They trap souls in constant struggle.

Nothing works perfectly in the physical realm because the maker is imperfect. Life in the physical world feels chaotic and unstable because it reflects the nature of the one who made it.

If you’ve deeply studied this idea of the Demiurge and compared it to the entity widely known as Satan or the Devil, you’ll find that they have similar characteristics. For instance, both are evil, ignorant, imperfect beings. Both want humans to suffer. Both are rulers of earthly reality. Both demand obedience in one form or another, and both seem invested in maintaining a world where people feel lost, confused, and spiritually disconnected.

Even the Bible itself indirectly supports the Gnostic idea of the Demiurge as the creator of the physical realm by depicting Satan as the ruler of this world. Jesus calls the Devil “the prince of this world,” a title that implies authority, jurisdiction, and influence over the earthly realm. Paul goes even further by calling him “the god of this world,” implying that the Devil’s influence saturates the entire structure of earthly reality.

The Bible constantly ties the world to corruption, temptation, suffering, and deception. It warns people not to “love the world” because it is under a dark intelligence that thrives on conflict, division, material obsession, and ignorance.

In 2 Corinthians 4:4, we read, “The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel, which reveals the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” This verse aligns with the Gnostic philosophy, which teaches that the Demiurge is the creator of this world, and he actively works to keep humanity blind to the divine spark/flame within.

Anyway, several secret societies agree with the Christian and Gnostic idea that the Devil is the god of this world, and this is why they worship the Devil.

They accept that the Devil is cruel, imperfect, corrupt, and inferior, yet they still worship him for one reason: he governs the realm they live in. To them, the world belongs to him. He controls the systems, the institutions, the material order, and the flow of power. And in their eyes, power must always be recognized and revered.

To them, it is not about morality. It is about hierarchy. They see the Devil the same way people see corrupt kings, dictators, or tyrants. You don’t have to like them or agree with them. But if they rule, you must acknowledge their authority.

Many secret societies do not worship the Devil out of love, but out of the realization that aligning themselves with the ruler of the world brings them power, wealth, and protection.

In their worldview, resisting the Devil is pointless because he controls the material world. Reverence, in this context, is about acknowledging the force that governs everything around them.

Maybe this is why the members of secret societies are always wealthy and powerful. They know that they live in the Devil’s illusion and they worship the Devil, and as a result, the Devil rewards them with wealth and power.

Maybe if we also start worshipping the Devil and acknowledging his power and kingship, earthly wealth and power will come to us.

We must learn to see the world as it is: a place full of suffering and pain, and accept that its ruler is not good and loving as we were made to believe.

If you start seeing things clearly, you’ll realize that it’s illogical or absurd to claim that a good and loving god created this world.

It’s the religious beliefs that have been forced upon us from a young age that blind us from the truth, which is that this world is a Devil’s illusion. It’s time we must accept the hard truth that our god is evil.

This harsh truth has been ignored for centuries, yet it solves the very riddle that confuses both religion and philosophy. As Yuval Noah Harari pointed out in his book Sapiens: The History of Mankind, “Monotheism explains order but is mystified by evil. Dualism explains evil but is puzzled by order. There is one logical way of solving the riddle: to argue that there is a single Omnipotent God who created the entire universe – and he’s evil. But nobody in history has had the stomach for such a belief.”

From time immemorial, only the members of secret societies have had the stomach for such a belief. They accepted what ordinary people could not bear to think about. This is why they portrayed the Devil with horns. Throughout ancient cultures, horns were symbols of strength, dominance, triumph, and authority. When they gave the Devil horns, they were not describing a monster. Instead, they were describing the ruler of the material realm. The horned figure represents command over the physical world, mastery over the earthly realm, and ownership of the illusion that surrounds human life.

The Devil stands as the most dominant force within the material realm, and this physical world functions as an illusion that reflects his nature. He is a low-vibrational being, and Earth is also a low-vibrational realm. The suffering, the confusion, the constant struggle, and the endless cycle of desire and disappointment all point to a creator who thrives on disorder rather than harmony.

Human beings remain trapped in confusion because they keep trying to force a good, loving god as a creator of a world that was never designed for everlasting peace and happiness.

Clarity comes when you finally admit that the Devil is the king of the earthly realm. When you understand that Earth is a realm shaped by a corrupt ruler with selfish intentions. When this realization sinks in, the chaos, pain, and injustices present in this world begin to make sense. You understand why bad things happen to good people, why evil people have controlled the world from time immemorial, and most importantly, you understand why the creator of our world allows suffering and never ends it despite his ability to do so.

This newfound clarity will force you to question who the true God is, where our real home is, and what our actual nature might be. These questions will lead to the realization that the true God cannot be fully understood or defined, yet this presence lives within all forms of life as a hidden spark. It becomes clear that you have two options. You either worship the earthly king – the devil – or you focus on activating the divine flame/spark within you.

For as Jesus Christ taught this indirectly when he said, “No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon” (In esoteric circles, the word mammon refers to a spiritual power or entity that competes with God for a person’s loyalty and trust).

Neither of these two options is right or wrong. Right and wrong are ideas invented by the ego. What you must understand is that once you choose an option, you must give yourself fully to it. If you choose one option, ignore the other completely and focus your whole life on it. Either option can bring power. Choosing one will always place you above the confused and the blind who drift through life without knowing that they live inside the devil’s illusion.

Shalom.
